Michigan Elite Football Club


The MEFC staff is comprised of decorated and accomplished men that have coached and played football at the highest level possible. Our staff has also been recognized and selected to coach All Star Games, Developmental Games, and National and International Football Camps. Collectively as players, they have acquired All League, All-Conference, All City, All Catholic, All-State, All-American, and Hall of Fame Honors. Collectively, the MEFC staff has collected over 15 state titles as players and coaches.


Mill “The Thrill” Coleman

Quarterbacks & Passing Game Coordinator
Michigan State University/Chicago Bears

A former Farmington Hills Harrison High School three time All-State Quarterback, All-American Quarterback and MVP recipient of two state championships. He was selected as the Michigan High School All-Decade Dream Teams quarterback and team captain (1980-1990). Mill is a former Michigan State University captain, three year starter (quarterback, receiver, running back and punt returner). During his time at MSU, Mill was once named MSU Team MVP. After college, Mill went on to play professionally with the Chicago Bears (2 years) and Montreal Allouttes (2 years) before a knee injury ended his career.


Ron Rice

Defensive Backs & Defensive Coverage Coordinator
Eastern Michigan University/Detroit Lions

Ron Rice graduated from U of D Jesuit High School (Detroit, MI) in 1990 where he was named First Team All-League, All-Catholic and All-Metro as a defensive back in football. Rice then went on to graduate from Eastern Michigan University in 1995. As a student athlete, Mr. Rice anchored the EMU Football team’s defense from the 1991-1994 seasons as a two time All Conference Safety. In 1991, he led the Mid American Conference and finished 2nd in the nation in kickoff returns. Rice finished his career as the sixth leading tackler in EMU history with 325.

Mr. Rice enjoyed a stellar career as Strong Safety and Co-Captain with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League from 1995 – 2002.  In 2000, Rice was awarded The Walter Payton Man of the year award from the NFL and the Detroit Lions for his community involvement. In 2002, he was forced into retirement due to a career ending neck injury. He recorded 477 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 12 interceptions in his professional career. His on and off the field efforts landed him in the EMU Hall of Fame in 2002. Rice earned a Master’s Degree from Wayne State University (MI).

George Yarberry

Yarberry grew up in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Maumee High School.  He was an All-Northern Lakes League performer and All-Northwest Ohio performer in his senior year averaging 17 points per game on the basketball court.

Yarberry received a full basketball scholarship and was a 3-year starter at Hillsdale College.  He ranks in the Top 5 all-time at Hillsdale College for 3-point field goals made; 3-point goals attempted and 3 point field goal percentage.  In his sophomore season, Yarberry was ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in NCAA Division 2 for 3 point field goal percentage (47%). Hillsdale College won the GLIAC Championship and participated in the Division 2 NCAA Basketball Tournament in his senior season.

Romond Batten

Coaching Experience: 15+ Years

Coach Batten, with years of speed and performamce training experience, is a Defensive Coach/Coordinator with Michigan Elite Football Club and also works the Elite Football Camp circuit . He also served as linebacker coach and talent evaluator for USA Football and the U15 Developmental Games. Coach Batten is a member of the Catholic League Hall of Fame.

Terry Battle

Arizona State University/Detroit Lions/Arizona Cardinals

Terry Battle attended Sweetwater Union High School in San Diego, California where he earned 1st Team All Metropolitan and Offensive Player of the Year honors while being heavily recruited by multiple Division 1 powerhouses nationwide.  Terry went on to become a Sun Devil at Arizona State University, where he was named as a Sporting News 1st Team All American and All Pac-10 selection while also being recognized as #1 for kick returns in the nation.  After being selected in the NFL draft during his true Junior year in college, Terry went on to play two seasons with the Detroit Lions followed by a stint with the Arizona Cardinals.  Terry also went on to have a successful career in the NFL Europe and the XFL.  To this day, Terry holds records in both the NFL Europe and at Arizona State University for rushing touchdowns in a single season and the two longest carries in a single game.

While coaching, Terry sheds light on the importance of hard work and education while also providing a hands on style to improve players’ ball handling skills, fluidity in routes and speed.  Mr. Battle holds a Master’s Degree in Special Education and spends his time working with underprivileged youth both on and off the field.


Robert Bolden, Jr.

Pennsylvania State University, Louisiana State University & Eastern Michigan University

Bolden was a four-star recruit at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory … As a senior, he ranked as the nation’s fourth-best quarterback by ESPN.com and the second-best dual-threat signal-caller by Rivals.com . He earned all-district and all-city accolades … Totaled more than 2,000 yards passing and 14 touchdowns, while rushing for over 1,000 yards and 16 scores in his final two high school seasons.

In 2010, Robert earned a scholarship to Penn State and was the first true freshman to start at quarterback in the season-opener in 100 years. He started nine times as a true freshman. Robert transferred to LSU after his sophomore season and finished his collegiate career at Eastern Michigan University.  In 2015,  Robert was  invited to the Detroit Lions Rookie Camp.




Rick Bouch

Indiana University, PA

Coach Bouch was an All-State high school quarterback and an Academic All-American wide receiver at Indiana Univ. of PA. He returned to coach at his alma mater helping to lead IUP to the NCAA Division II national championship in 1990. He has served as a college assistant, high school head coach, and high school assistant in New York, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Coach Bouch has tutored numerous quarterbacks who have gone on to play at the college level.

Kevin Ford attended Saginaw Valley State University where he as a 2x All American Defensive Back. He then played professionally in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts and in the Arena Football League with the Iowa Barnstormers and Memphis Pharaohs. Kevin has 10 years of coaching experience in the Oakland Athletic Association and Detroit Public Schools.

John Gieselman

Coach Gieselman attended Brother Rice High School and led team to State Semi Finals in 1987. As a walk-on quarterback at Michigan State he earned a scholarship his freshman year after being named the outstanding player in the Spring Green and White game. Appeared in 11 games at Michigan State where he was named player of the game in his Senior year vs Northwestern. John played 2 seasons in the Arena Football League (Massachusetts Mauraders ’94 and Charlotte Rage ’95) as well as in NFL Europe (Rhein Fire ’95). John also works the Elite Football Camp circuit.

Chris Lum

Lehigh University

Chris Lum attended Lehigh University (FCS 1-AA) where he served as team captain, set numerous passing records (yards, completions, and touchdowns), and received many athletic and university awards.
He was the recipient of the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, the Eastern College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and placed second for the Walter Payton Award (FCS Heisman).
He has been training quarterbacks for over three years and loves not only seeing his quarterbacks grow and improve as an athlete, but also become great leaders on their teams, in their schools, and in the community. He works with youth to collegiate level quarterbacks.

Nicholas Martin

Coach Martin earned a scholarship to Bowling Green State University, where he was a member of the 1991 & 1992 MAC Championship teams. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, UofD Jesuit, coaching Offensive & Defensive Linemen. Coach Martin has 10+ years experience at the High School level including camps & personalized training for College & high school athletes. He has served in a variety of capacities, such as; head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, & Camp Coordinator.
Coach Martin  also works the Ellite Football Camp Circuit

Neal Mozdzierz

Receivers /7v7 Offensive Coordinator
Ferris State University

Neal graduated from Royal Oak Kimball HS and went on to attended Ferris State University, where he was part of 3 league championship teams. He held school records for receptions in a single season, career and touchdown receptions in a season.  Neal has served as offensive coordinator for the USA Football Developmental Games in Canton, Ohio.

Coach Perry has over 15 years of coaching experience. He is an Offensive Coach/Coordinator with the Michigan Elite Football Club 7v7 Teams and also works the Elite Football Camp circuit.

Brandon Smith

Coaching Experience: 10+ Years

Coach Smith is an Offensive Coach/Coordinator with the Michigan Elite Football Club Youth/Underclassmen Team and also works the Midwest Elite Football Camp circuit. In 2013, he led his MEFC teams to a perfect 3-0 record in invitational 7v7 tournaments. Smith  also served as offensive assistant coach and talent evaluator for USA Football and the 2013 U15 Developmental Games.

Earnest Thomas III attended Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory High School. Earnest ranked No. 13 on The Detroit News Blue Chip earning him a scholarship to the University Illinois where he became a starter and standout safety in the BIG TEN.
